Greetings Film Florida Members, Stakeholders, and Friends ~

Despite a monumental turnout of pro-business supporters at today's House Careers and Competition Subcommittee, bill PCB CCS 17-01 passed favorably out of the committee. Simply put, if the legislature were to pass this bill they would effectively be passing a tax increase on an industry that is vital to our job creating and our tourism economies as well as abolishing the Florida Office of Film and Entertainment.

While we are disappointed in today's outcome, we believe a statement was made by the amount of calls made and e-mails sent to committee members voicing opposition, the throngs of people in the room voicing opposition, and the number of committee members who voted against this bill.

Before this bill becomes law, it must still go before the entire Florida House of Representatives, the Florida Senate and the Governor. Thank you all for your efforts and please stay engaged by following us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the next Call to Action.

Sincerely,

Kelly Paige
President
