SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Before you submit your script, please check to make sure there are no missing or duplicated pages.
You must keep your short film script at a maximum of 15 pages.
Scripts should be written in standard screenplay format,
Numbered Pages
Font - 12 pt Courier
PDF Format
If you’re not familiar with standard formatting, we recommend the following book as a guide “The Screenwriter’s Bible by David Trottier.”
Please include your name on your title page.
When we receive your entry, we will assign your script a number and our Judges will identify your screenplay by title and script number.
Please do not enclose synopses, casting suggestions, letters, resumes, or photos with your submission. They will not be forwarded to the Judges.

GENERAL PROVISIONS
By agreeing to these Rules and Conditions you agree that you have read the rules of the contest and that you have the authorization to submit this screenplay to the Operation Screenplay Contest. You further agree that your screenplay is owned by you (and co-author(s).
RULES & CONDITIONS
If your script is accepted, TBFS will executive produce the film.
Entry fees are non-refundable.
Entry in the competition is void where prohibited by law.
TBFS approves all locations and Director.
No more than 2 locations within a 30 mile radius from the Tampa International Airport to be considered.
Your script will “not” quality if:
Not written in the English language.
Submitted after midnight EST, March 6th, 2023, deadline.
Adaptations of books, plays, or other source material written by another author.
Scripts that have been sold, produced, or are currently under option.
Judges, sponsors, administrators, and independent contractors who work with Tampa Bay Film Society.
Novels, short stories, stage plays, treatments, synopses, reality show concepts and or spec scripts for existing TV series are not eligible, or are scripts that have previously won a prize in Operation Logline competitions.
In order to qualify:
Must be written in the English language
By entering the Operation Screenplay Contest, you represent that your entry is your original work, and does not infringe on the copyright or other rights of other people.
Script adaptations must be from your own book, play, or other source material is eligible if you have retained all film and television rights to the work.

Submission deadline is March 6th, 2023, before Midnight, EST.
By submitting online to the Operation Screenplay Contest, all writers authorize the submission of their entry.
Entries will not be returned.
Once a script has been entered in the competition, under no circumstances will we accept substitutions of new drafts or corrected pages.
If you wish to submit a revised draft of your script, you must enter it as a new submission.
The contest and its administrators are not responsible for submissions that are lost, stolen, or damaged in transit, and we cannot return scripts once they have been submitted.
Be sure to retain a copy of all material submitted.
The Operation Screenplay Contest will not share your screenplay with anyone except the official judges of the competition.
The Operation Screenplay Contest reserves the right to make any necessary changes, postponements, or cancellations at our discretion.
Awards are based solely on the overall merit of entries.
Judges reserve the right not to grant an award.
Decisions of the Judges are final and may not be disputed.
The Judges are required to adhere to our instructions and our procedures to evaluate scripts. However, the contest and its administrators may not be held responsible for any errors or omissions on the part of the Judges.
Notification of winners and official finalists will be sent by email in August.
